Within the framework of the campaign of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - "Befriend the Police", a two-day informative and educational event was launched in Batumi, near to the Alphabet Tower.
The opening of the event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and the Chairman of the Government of Adjara - Tornike Rizhvadze.
At the public event, juveniles and all interested persons have the opportunity to learn about the activities of various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as visit and view the equipment and special machinery of the patrol police, the Emergency Response Center "112", the service agency, the Forensic-criminalistics department, the border police, the Emergency Management Service, Security Police and Special Tasks Department.
Children, together with representatives of the Ministry, participate in various cognitive and entertainment activities.
Similar public events will be held in 5 more cities across the country - Zugdidi, Kutaisi, Gori, Telavi and Rustavi.
The campaign of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - "Befriend the Police" will have a continuous character. In parallel with the public events, the project also includes visits to schools by the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, namely the Patrol Police Department, the Human Rights Protection and Quality Investigation Monitoring Department, the Emergency Management Service, the Service Agency and the Emergency Response Center "112". Information-cognitive meetings will be held with school pupils, the purpose of which is to raise awareness among children and juveniles on public safety and rule of law.
